Have you ever been camping?
Yes, I’ve gone camping… 3 times, all during some of the busiest seasons in our business. Each trip wasn’t just an escape, it was a reset. A chance to breathe and come back stronger for the clients we serve at Abba 98 Realty.
The first trip was around 2015, when one of our international referrors from California visited the Philippines. I brought along Arah and Michi( both our staff ) , and together with our partner, we headed to Burot Beach in Calatagan, Batangas. It was completely off-grid—no electricity, just tents, a sari sari store where you can charge your phone ( for a fee ) , food, drinks, and meaningful conversations under the stars. It reminded us that sometimes, the best connections happen when everything else is stripped away and spirits already consumed within our souls ( LOL! )

In 2016, we returned to Calatagan, this time to Aquaria, one of the beachfront developments we were promoting. I encouraged the team to bring their families along, making it a more inclusive and memorable experience. With access to resort amenities, we enjoyed water activities by day and we have experienced cleaner restrooms as well. We bonded over stories and laughter by night. It was a step up in comfort, but the real value remained the same, which is strengthening relationships.

My third trip brought us to Manuel Uy Beach, also in Calatagan, known as a budget-friendly camping spot. This time, I brought along a few bottles of Johnnie Walker Blue and Black label. Most of the team’s preferred “ poison ” are the local favorites, Emperador and San Mig Light. As the night deepened, so did the conversations… everyone was relaxed, a little tipsy, and fully present. It was one of those nights you wish you could pause.

Camping, for me, was never just about the location. It was about stepping away from the pressure of running a real estate business, so we could return with clearer minds and stronger bonds.

At our company, (www.abbarealty.com.ph), we believe that the same care we invest in our team reflects in how we serve our clients—with focus, energy, and genuine connection.
Because sometimes, the best way to move forward is to pause, reset, and recharge.
